the calendar image below to check out the year-long calendars. I have carefully mapped out this year's activities for several reasons. I first introduce a concept or standard to the class and then return and review that concept several times throughout the year. I incorporate many different types of projects and activities to engage all kinds of learning styles as well as teach students how to be effective writers, listeners, teammates and presenters. My units in Language and Grammar are designed to build upon each other by reviewing a part of speech or grammar rule and then using it multiple times in "real world" assessments. My Literature lessons were similarly created but also focus on the common theme of valuing relationships and creating priorities. Both classes' curriculums were designed to correlate with each other throughout the year. This year's plans have not only the past Indiana State Standards but the new College and Career- Ready Standards as well. For a more in-depth rationale of my lesson and curriculum creation, press the "Lesson Planning Strategies"  checkmark.
